Although their information is more general, several national organizations have online presences and websites that are worth viewing.

The Archaeological Conservancy is a non-profit organization that seeks to acquire and preserve the best of our nation’s remaining archaeological sites. Every day archaeological sites are threatened by development and other land use changes. The Archaeological Institute of America is a nationwide organization that seeks to promote public interest in all facets of archaeology, to support research and preservation, and represents the discipline across the globe. The AIA was founded in 1879 and chartered by the United States Congress in 1906. With membership in the AIA you receive six issues each year of their informative magazine, Archaeology, which reports on archaeological research and discoveries from around the world.
