2018 Archaeology Month Events

Join us as we celebrate Georgia Archaeology Month throughout the month of May! Thanks to the hard work of Society for Georgia Archaeology members across the state, the month of May is packed with exciting events for you to attend!  Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site and Fort Hawkins will host artifact identification days along with other hands-on activities. Don’t miss  archaeology days at New South Associates in Stone Mountain, the Ezekial Harris House in Augusta, the Antonio J. Waring, Jr. Archaeology Lab in Carrollton and the Fort King George State Historic Site in Darien and the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon and at the Gwinnett History MuseumFort Daniel Historic Site in Buford will host an Open House and Fort Frederica National Monument along with the Southeast Archeological Center will be conducting excavations that the public can participate in. Public lectures at Fort King George State Historic Site in Darien and at the Chapter Meetings for the Ocmulgee Archaeological Society and the Greater Atlanta Archaeological Society are also on the schedule.
