Great Pee Dee Heritage Preserve, Darlington County
March 7-12, 14-18, 2011, Open 9am to 4pm daily
Public Day is March 12, 2011

The fifteenth field season is on the horizon! Last year we counted at least 400 visitors to the site during our two weeks in the field. We hope to surpass those numbers this year.

We’re excited to finally complete the large block excavation this year. Last year we reached levels dating to around 8,000 years ago. We hope the block will produce evidence of the earliest South Carolinians – Clovis people. Come out and see what the excavations yield!

Please join us during our two-week dig or on Public Day to help us continue the long history of archaeological investigation in the Pee Dee. Come see what exciting new things we will learn about the people who called the Kolb Site home!
