ASSC conference features keynote lecture on Etowah

The Archaeology Society of South Carolina is holding its annual conference in Columbia this Saturday, March 2nd, from 8:30 to 5:00 in Gambrell Room 250. Registration for the conference on Saturday is $10 with a reduced rate of $5 for seniors and students. ASSC Members are admitted free of charge.

Dr. Adam King is the keynote speaker. He will present a new synthesis of Etowah’s history based on remote sensing and studies of Mississippian iconography in his talk, “Mound-top Precincts and the Coming of the Birdman: Insights into Etowah’s History from Remote Sensing and Iconography.” For more information about the conference, click here.
