There is still time to contribute to Georgia Archaeology Month by presenting your research on Georgia Archaeology!
The SGA is soliciting presentations for the 2015 Spring Meeting, to be held Saturday, May 30, at the Lowndes County Historic Society Museum in Valdosta, Georgia, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. While attending the SGA Spring Meeting, visitors will have access to the museum’s 10,000 feet of exhibition space highlighting the economic, cultural, and social history of the community. The SGA Spring Meeting Social Committee is currently planning afternoon activities. Stay tuned for more information.
For this meeting, we welcome papers on all subjects related to Georgia or the Archaeology Month theme of contact period archaeology. The SGA’s mission is to unite all persons interested in the archaeology of Georgia so avocationals, professionals, and students are all encouraged to participate. Access a PDF of the call for papers by clicking here.
Papers that focus on archaeological research in Georgia or the bordering states will be considered for the program. Each presenter should plan for a presentation of 15 minutes. Please contact Richard Moss to submit your title and abstract (100 words) by April 3. Send them to him by clicking here. First come, first served; the number of slots is limited! Questions? Please call 770.333.9484 (Richard Moss or Joseph Roberts). The SGA charges all attendees, including presenters, a modest registration fee.
