Board Members listening to presentation by Terry Jackson about how sensitive archaeological site location information in the Georgia Archeological Site Files (Athens) could be shared with Georgia’s twelve Regional Planning Commissions to help guide development decisions without compromising the archaeological information.

Members of the SGA leadership met Saturday afternoon, 27 August 2011, in the Georgia Room at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in Macon.

The SGA leadership addressed various issues, both old and new business. Overall, the SGA conducted a successful Georgia Archaeology Month back in May, heard about busy plans for the ArchaeoBus this fall and for the fall meeting and auction, and heard that a few large sales of Frontiers in the Soil have been made.

For more details on what topics were discussed at the meeting, read our followup story here.

During breaks, attendees enjoyed fascinating exhibits in the halls surrounding the meeting room, and even shot a few hoops.
