As you know, membership in SGA includes current issues of Early Georgia, a longstanding twice-yearly publication of the Society that serves as Georgia’s premier archaeology journal. But what about all those great past issues that were mailed out before you joined? Don’t miss out, back issues are available! A complete listing of past issues, their content, availability, and an order form can be found on the back issues page.

But perhaps the particular issue you’re looking for is Sold Out? That’s the case for many classics and perennial favorites, such as 1999’s Volume 27, Issue 1: A Guide to Georgia Indian Pottery Types by Mark Williams and Victor Thompson. Well, here’s an exciting new development: previously unavailable out-of-print back issues can now be downloaded in their entirety as Adobe PDFs! For free! These beautiful back issue scans, cleaned up by Early Georgia editor Jared Wood, feature OCR’d text for easy searching. When copies are sold out and available for download, links are provided in the archive listing. Eighteen issues are currently available for free download. Please note that the files are large and hosted externally on Google Drive, so you will be redirected. This is an excellent resource to have online, and was made possible thanks to the SGA board and website committee. So feel free to peruse the list and place your orders or download online today!
