The next Ocmulgee Archaeological Society (OAS) meeting will Monday, November 6th at 6:30 pm in Room 202 of the Mercer University Science and Engineering building located at 1550 College Street on the Macon campus of Mercer University. For directions check out the map on our website at http://oasgroup.wix.com/archaeology and note that we are meeting in [room 202]{.underline}. Archaeologist James D’Angelo will be speaking to the group during this meeting on “*Recent Projects of the Gwinnett Archaeological Research Society including the Fort Daniel Project”. *Dr. D’Angelo is the President and Site Archaeologist for the Fort Daniel Foundation in Gwinnett County as well as a member of the very active Gwinnett Archaeological Research Society (GARS). 

 

Recap of Recent Events and Participation

In October, OAS completed the Artifacts ID Day schedule for this calendar year with a fun day on October 7th in Indian Springs. Thanks to all who attended and helped out with our 5 ID programs this year.

 

OAS also had 3 members who attended the Fall SGA Meeting in Lawrenceville on October 14th.
